How will it work?
A demand-led model for each major construction project will direct funds to where they are most needed. This will ensure relevant, timely and quality-assured training and assessment for the lifetime of the project throughout the entire supply chain.
Over the next five years training centres will be established at all significant construction projects in all nine English regions, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
These on-site training centres will be supported by a fleet of regionally-based mobile centres set up across a range of major regeneration, development, refurbishment, maintenance, civil engineering and housing construction projects.
Training centres will be established at all significant construction projects in all nine English regions, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Best practice will be shared using the regional CoVE network (Centres of Vocational Excellence) and specialist expertise will be provided through the national CoVE network and product manufacturers. The capacity and skills intelligence needed to predict future training requirements will be provided by ConstructionSkills.
