Stand-alone centres
One option is to design new,
purpose-built stand-alone centres where the majority
of the training takes place.
For example: The Fashion Retail Academy
As a trailblazer to the National Skills Academy, the Fashion Retail Academy programme was set up in 2005 by a partnership between the Arcadia Group and the University of the Arts, and co-sponsored by Marks & Spencer, NEXT and Great Universal Stores. The Academy is based in purpose-built, state-of-the-art premises off London’s Oxford Street. Learning programmes include master classes from major retailers, work placements and visits to manufacturing and distribution centres, where students can see first-hand how the industry works.
