Courses delivered online
Finally, web-based learning is an important option for all the Academies, particularly because of its flexibility and ability to reach SMEs. However, it does need to be used in conjunction with face-to-face training. An entirely virtual programme would not be appropriate.
We anticipate that future National Skills Academies will capitalise on web-based learning, as a medium that is well placed to deliver bite-sized modules to employers in sectors which are dispersed across the country and for whom traditional learning centres are not a cost-effective option.
